Compliance to Wal-Mart Supply Chain Security Audit

201304191026
In March, we participated in the Wal-Mart Supply Chain Security Audit for the first time. We successfully passed and obtained a high mark of 94 out of 100. The result enforces the integrity of our security practices. Leo’s participation in this program further facilitates our clients’ requirements and compliance in supplying paper products to Wal-Mart.

To promote supply chain security, Wal-Mart has initiated a supply chain security audit program, which is based on complying with the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) requirements. C-TPAT is a joint US government-business initiative to build cooperative relationships that aim to strengthen overall supply chain and border security. It involves stakeholders across the supply chain, such as importers, carriers, brokers, and manufacturers. For nearly a decade, we have also implemented supply chain security control measures as part of our risk management practices.

The Wal-Mart Supply Chain Security Audit is scored based on eight major areas, including personnel security, threat awareness, physical access controls, physical security, container/trailer security, procedural security, information security, and contractor security. Complying with this supply chain security audit benefits both our clients and Leo.
