Consumer Product Safety Commission
Heshan Leo Metrology and Testing Services Co. Ltd (for short Leo-MTS) has recently been accredited by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). As per the 'Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008', Leo-MTS can perform some relevant tests as an accredited third party laboratory.
On August 14, 2008, President George W. Bush signed the landmark legislation 'Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (HR 4040)'. The Act, in addition to more stringent requirements on the lead content of children's products, requires mandatory third party testing for certain children's products by CPSC accredited laboratories before being imported in to the United States. There are 28 mandatory testing rules established by the CPSC as of February, 2011. The mandatory testing requirements concerned with products made by Leo Paper Group are as follow:
- Lead Paint Regulation at 16 CFR Part 1303
- Rattles Regulation at 16 CFR Part 1510
- Small Parts Regulation at 16 CFR Part 1501
Leo-MTS is an accredited laboratory by China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). The issued testing and calibration reports of Leo-MTS have been accepted by 71 members of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) based on the ISO/IEC 17025. Now the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has approved Leo-MTS to perform the above three testing requirements.
