Over the years we have taken a number of proactive initiatives to strengthen and improve our production workflow and processes. We are proud to be the only printer in China who has obtained the Process Standard Offset (PSO) Certificate. With our management support and company-wide participation, we successfully passed a series of audits and the PSO re-certification for the third time. There were eight audit categories including organization and documentation, data reception, data creation, display, proofing, standard illumination, printing plate production and printing on Komori LS-440-4. This reaffirms our printing processes are fully compliant with the international ISO printing standards, ensuring consistent product quality. Certification helps printing companies facilitate effective communication, achieve better quality and greener production.
Since our first PSO certification in 2008, we have built up a close collaboration with UGRA, the Swiss Center of Competence for Media and Printing Technology. We gained professional knowledge, experience and technical advice, particularly from Mr. Erwin Widmer, UGRA’s former Deputy Managing Director who retired on June 30, 2015, and is proud of his PSO certification work with Leo. Based on his major contributions to the development of the PSO certification for the printing industry including descriptions of all of the required steps in the printing workflow, Mr. Widmer received the 2015 Michael H. Bruno Award for outstanding contributions to the Graphic Arts Industry, which is bestowed annually by the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA). We treasure this cooperation and the introduction of the PSO application to Leo for over 7 years.
