On May 12, 2011, Ms. Mei Ng, former Director of Friends of the Earth (HK), presented the topic, “Disasters, Natural or Man-made? Environment Changes, We Change” and shared with Leonians the importance of protecting our environment. Ms. Ng inspired Leonians with the concepts of “Never stop protecting the environment” and “A green mind can be innovative for a company.”
These concepts created the platform for our two seminars, which allowed our staff to work together and discuss different mindsets to push forward efforts to live and conduct business with nature. During the seminars, our top management team joined in to discuss different innovative ways for companies to be green and achieve sustainable development.
Our chairman, Mr. Samuel Leung, was excited to share ideas about “innovative thinking” through observation and knowing how to raise questions. He discussed how Leonians can help to save energy by increasing our OEE rate, optimizing operation processes and eliminating all wastage. In conclusion, Mr. Leung emphasized that despite receiving several environmental awards, we must be aware that this is only the start of our journey to being green and enforcing sustainable practices. We must continue to align ourselves with national environmental policy. In the long term, sustainable practices will not only benefit the planet, the environment, the country and the local community, but also our clients and ourselves.
