The theme of the Leo exhibition this year at Frankfurt Book Fair was “
Creating Interactive Value for Books”. It was intended to showcase the introduction of Haptic Magic, a newly developed printed electronic technology that includes flexible switches integrated into the paper that trigger sound, light and other interactive features.
Our theme and the development of the Haptic Technology was in response to one of the big challenges shared by book publishers and trade professionals worldwide, which is how to deal with blending the physical value that books bring and the growing transition to digital technology. The goal of Haptic Magic and other micro innovations, printing technologies, book formats and processes that Leo displayed at the exhibition is to provide you with interactive solutions that will help bridge the physical and the digital in books to create new interactive experiences for consumers.
The 10th Anniversary of our Leo Touch family of secondary processes and finishes was also celebrated with a “Touch and Feel” wall of the various processes and effects that visitors could explore. At the Leo stand we also presented FamLoop™, the digital publishing solution offered through our Group’s associate company, MotherApp. Its new voice-interactive iPad storybook and story-game apps launched this year demonstrated many interactive features such as dialogic reading, audio recordings, digital puzzles and more.
The other galleries included; books + technologies, casebound books, board books, games and activities, gift and stationery, gift + book sets, and our newest area, luxury packaging. Once again customers and visitors to the stand commented on how the quality and innovative product solutions Leo had on display inspired their creativity and new opportunities to add value to their products. Leo has been exhibiting at the Frankfurt Book Fair for the past fifteen years, and this year was another successful event. Thanks again to everyone who visited our stand.
