Waste recycling is important for environmental management. It is also one of the essential approaches in reducing solid waste for a city like Hong Kong, whose landfills are projected to reach their threshold in a few years. To tackle this challenge, Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA), one of the leading conformity assessment bodies in Hong Kong, initiated the scheme of “HKQAA Hong Kong Registration – Recycling Services” to promote clean recycling and source separation.
Stakeholders who are involved in waste recycling processes, including waste collectors, waste recyclers, and companions (who are involved in waste collection), are all invited to participate in the scheme. The scheme covers processes of waste collection, waste transfer, and waste storage, as well as recycling waste to raw materials, semi-finished products or finished products.
As one of the leaders in sustainability management in the region, Leo is committed to supporting this community-wide initiative to encourage and promote good recycling practices. After an on-site assessment that verified our recycling and source separation facilities/processes, we were registered as one of the pilot Companions under the scheme for our good practices of waste collection and source separation.
Looking forward, we will continue making efforts to conserve our environment. Click
